Experimental Creative Factory (2000) |
"Routine makes up the "pro", but quite often it kills
phantasy and forces us to think and act within secure and tested
dimensions.
Robert Rottensteiner and Roman A. Tolic have decided to work together
again - after ten years - and founded the Experimental Creative
Factory -ECF.
The goal is playing and informal medial experimenting.
 
 
The first action "Creative Weekend" took place under participation
of 16 international participants from February 25 to February 27,
2000 on Hocheck in Niederoesterreich (Lower Austria), with the goal
to create an original short feature film in 3 days from the idea
to shooting. The project - a mix of excursion, creative meditation
and film workshop - tried to bind at the same time creativity and
productivity.

money, flee to the hills, in order to get beyond the border.

FOR AUTHENTICITY
things, which we note and which leave
an impression with us, are those that are created spontaneously,
which deviate from standards and bear human moves.
CHANGE OF EVERYDAY EVENTS
as the antithesis to the routine, as the
contrast to being upright and adapted, as the opposite of being
serious the ecf was created. ecf symbolizes a reservoir of creativity
and imagination, a small, non-commercial laboratory for spontaneous
inventions.
UNUSUAL PRODUCTS
this new way should not be, by itself,
solely a creative process, and not at all a planned educational
procedure, it should lead however, first of all, to unusual products
in diverse sections of art and communication.
OPEN PLATFORM
ecf is an open platform demanding neither
membership fees nor obligations. the basic principle is the preparedness
to play, experiment and create. each should set the stage of load
for oneself and each should on the other hand evaluate by oneself
how big could his/her engagement be.
PRESIDENCY
the presidency, composed of two co-presidents,
acquires, as the foundation, the entire "construction"
like an aggregate in life, in case electricity is deficient. the
presidency takes care of the platform structure, points to fundamental
guiding principles and serves simultaneously as administrator and
moderator.
MULTIMEDIAL PLAYGROUND
the dosage determines the effect, and
one should not go too far with creativity, for a medley of the usual
involves unusual. dreams also need reality and the play lives out
of sincerity.
it is important nevertheless that we do not forget to experiment,
to play and to discover.
