Next Generation Film Network builds upon the central Hercules Filmnetwork Platform, a film financing and community building software system which has been developed throughout the last 4 years under the lead of the Project Coordinator with support of several Austrian funding programs.
In this innovative form (prosumer concept) of film production users can at the same time become producers by collaborating and contributing via broadband technologies.
The platform prototype is almost ready for commercialisation, but needs further adaptation (especially regarding language, legal issues, interface and digital archive) to fit special requirements for application in the Balkan region. Furthermore the system shall enable and support the first collaborative film festival, which shall take place on an annual basis in Serbia and attract prosumers from all over the world, but with a focus on the Balkan region.
Therefore the system needs to be enhanced to cover functionalities needed for such a festival, e.g. collaboration tools to support multi-stage voting processes, sponsoring, and management of huge amount of media. For the latter, integration of the platform with a media asset management system is foreseen in the course of the project.
The network mobilises 7 Partners incl. 7 work packages, 5 SMEs, 1 NGO and 1 University from 3 countries, namely Austria, Serbia und Ukraine.
